Charities We Support
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill
While The R.B. Mitchell Team has a heart for our clients, we are also passionate about giving back to our community and especially to underprivileged children. We contribute our time as well as financial resources to the groups close to our hearts.
As many of our clients know, Rob was abandoned when he was three years old, placed in an orphanage for 14 years, and homeless at 17. This is why our team supports charities for children and families in crisis.

For the Children
Since 1985, For the Children has provided a safe, no-cost, one week camping experience for foster children ages 6-12. The camps are staffed with a 2-1 ratio of trained adult volunteer counselors. In follow-up meetings with the counselors, these adults consistently say how much their lives were changed because of the program.
In 2008, they expanded to include a school year mentoring program which allows children, like Rob once was, to experience life-changing moments year-round.
For the Children has a broad reach of many chapters in advocacy, awareness, fostering and adoption, volunteer engagement and more in nearly every U.S. State and in locations around the globe. Rob has spoken at many camps from Florida to Alaska as well as, Wales, Mexico, and Guatemala. These children quickly realize that the “old” business man in a suit has walked their walk and can talk their talk, and if “Robby” can rise above his childhood, then maybe there really is hope for the kids at the For the Children camp.
