Rob Mitchell
Managing Director, Financial Advisor
Rob’s journey is one of resilience, determination, and triumph over adversity. Abandoned at the age of three and raised in an orphanage for 14 years, he faced homelessness at 17. Yet, instead of letting his circumstances dictate his future, Rob made a promise to himself at age twelve—he would not end up in prison or worse, like some of the boys who came before him.
Determined to build a better life, he began working—mowing lawns, shoveling snow, washing cars, baling hay, and working in a lumber yard—ultimately saving $3,000, enough in 1970 to purchase a brand-new Ford Mustang. Frustrated with low interest rates at the bank, he made his first investment in the stock market at just 16, while still living in the orphanage. That decision set him on a lifelong path in finance.
With a career starting in 1985, Rob has dedicated himself to helping clients navigate financial decisions with wisdom and integrity. Shaped by his own experiences, he understands the challenges people face and is deeply committed to providing comprehensive investment strategies to individuals from all walks of life.
His inspiring story is chronicled in his memoir, Castaway Kid, now published in seven languages—a testament to his unwavering spirit and the power of perseverance.
Married to Susan for over 40 years, they have two adult married children who have blessed them with multiple grandchildren. He readily confesses his weakness to coffee, chocolates, and honey.
